Curriculum at Rose Academies
Rose Academies in Tucson are known for innovative, student-centered programs that help develop academic, social, and real-world skills. Our curriculum meets students where they are and guides them toward graduation with purpose. As a blended, alternative high school, we focus on flexibility, clear expectations, and strong relationships so students can build confidence in themselves as learners.
Our goal is simple: teach students the fundamentals, expand how they think, and create life opportunities.

How Learning Works
Students learn through a blended model that combines a computerized, standards-aligned curriculum with personalized support. Courses are self-paced and mastery-based, allowing students to move forward at their own pace.
Teachers individualize instruction to meet each student’s needs and can personalize course selections, so students focus on areas that match their interests while still meeting academic standards. Small-group and one-on-one sessions provide targeted guidance, and tutorials reinforce learning along the way.
Beyond completing coursework, students develop learning strategies that help them study efficiently, think critically, and solve problems independently which are skills they can use in school and beyond.
Support Built Into Every Day
Support is always available and built into daily instruction. Teachers provide one-on-one and small-group interventions to reinforce skills, clarify concepts, and help students overcome challenges. Asking for help is encouraged and normalized.
Our small school setting allows staff to know students well, respond quickly, and adjust instruction to each student’s needs.
Flexibility, Opportunity, and Growth
Students attend five hours per day and can choose sessions that best support their goals. Our program also offers credit recovery, allowing students to get back on track.
Students are encouraged to participate in our signature Shu-Ha-Ri-DO program, which focuses on helping them plan well, think well, and live well. Through coursework and daily routines, students develop organization, time management, self-advocacy, goal setting, and career readiness skills that prepare them for school, work, and life beyond.
