The Benefits of Summer School for Students
Finish Up to 2 Classes in 4 Weeks
Accelerate your academic progress by completing up to two classes within a short four-week span. This intensive learning period is designed for efficiency, enabling students to advance through their coursework at a brisk pace, thereby lightening their academic load in the upcoming semesters.
Less Coursework for Later
By taking advantage of our summer school, students can significantly reduce their regular academic year’s coursework. This proactive approach allows for a more balanced schedule, providing additional time for extracurricular activities, college preparation, or personal interests during the traditional school year.
Cost-Effective Learning Opportunity
Rose Academies offers a unique opportunity where the summer school experience comes at no cost. This initiative ensures that all students have access to quality education, removing financial barriers to academic advancement.
Summer School at Rose Academies is Free!
Embrace the chance to advance academically without the burden of tuition or fees. Our summer program is designed to be accessible to all, emphasizing our commitment to educational equity and the success of our students.
Avoid Summer Learning Loss
Continued learning over the summer helps prevent the regression of academic skills and knowledge — a common issue known as summer learning loss. Our program keeps students intellectually engaged, ensuring that they return to school ready to build on their existing knowledge base without missing a beat.
Reinforce Class Knowledge
Our summer school programs reinforce critical knowledge and skills, solidifying students’ understanding of previously covered material. This refresher enhances their confidence and competence in the subject matter, setting a strong foundation for future academic success.
College Readiness
Our summer school programs are an excellent preparatory step for college, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and self-discipline required for higher education. By engaging in our challenging yet supportive academic environment, students develop a readiness for college-level work and gain a competitive edge in the college admission process.
Enrollment Policies
Our policy allows only one absence, emphasizing the importance of commitment to our summer school programs. This rule ensures students fully engage with our intensive curriculum, maximizing the short time frame of summer school to achieve academic goals. More than 3 tardies may result in dismissal from summer school.
Strict adherence to our code of conduct maintains a conducive learning environment. Violations lead to clear, predefined disciplinary actions, reinforcing the importance of responsibility and respect within the school community. The Rose Academies have severe consequences for drugs, weapons, or threatening behavior. Student discipline policies and procedures will be fully reviewed in class on the first day of summer school.
We promote responsible computer usage, facilitating educational advancement, not misuse. Guidelines are designed to enhance learning, ensuring technology is a tool for academic enrichment, not a distraction. The administration reserves the right to define what constitutes appropriate usage, and its decisions are final. Any student found in violation of the acceptable use policy of Rose Academies’ local network will face immediate removal from the summer school program.
A specific dress code is enforced to foster a professional and distraction-free environment. It respects individuality while maintaining a focus on education, requiring attire that is appropriate for an academic setting.
Rose Academies enforces a strict no-tobacco policy in alignment with Arizona state laws, prohibiting possession and use of tobacco products, including smokeless ones, by individuals of any age on school premises. This ensures a safe and clean learning space for everyone.
Students must manage their medication independently, as Rose Academies does not store any prescriptions or over-the-counter drugs. Students are advised to arrange their medication schedules before or after school hours. In special cases or for medical needs, consult with the school principal to accommodate specific health requirements and address any extenuating circumstances.
Independence and personal responsibility are encouraged, with students organizing their own transportation to summer school, underscoring the importance of planning and reliability. Parking for the school is provided in the general parking lot.
The focus of our summer school is academic progress and recovery for struggling students. It’s structured to supplement, not replace, the regular academic year. Given this, students are not eligible to graduate during summer school.
The course completion assessment is the responsibility of the teacher, who evaluates if a student has achieved the necessary mastery of the course objectives as per the Rose Curriculum. This assessment encompasses various evaluation methods, including observations, tests, and specific assessments aligned with the curriculum and external standards. Students receive a “Credit Award Form” confirming their earned credit, which is crucial for their academic records and future reference. Transferring summer school program credits to other schools is not guaranteed, and families are advised to verify with their primary school’s academic advisor.
